Mission Statement

The Office of Evaluations works with the university community to encourage and promote student learning in a welcoming and supportive environment. They support student success through records evaluations, maintenance of SDSU's degree audit system and ensuring that students are making degree progress towards graduation. Advisors in the Office of Evaluations are available to help students understand their academic record, transfer credit, and planning for graduation. Additionally, the Office of Evaluations is responsible for transfer credit evaluation and articulation and review of eligibility for bachelor's degree conferral.

The Office of Evaluations is a critical component in a collaborative network of campus resources. We implement the Student Success goals outlined in the University's Strategic Plan by supporting our diverse undergraduate population. We educate and empower students to become self-advocates for their educational and professional goals.

In a stable and consistent environment, we enrich the development of academic advising for faculty, staff and peer advisors. We train and support advisors in the effective use of academic advising tools at San Diego State University. The staff in the Office of Evaluations build relationships with campus advisors and administrators in order to improve student retention, facilitate graduation, and confer all undergraduate degrees.
